David Mleczko
Co-founder, Signature and Signature Green Public Relations and Marketing With a background in business and marketing, David brings twenty years of marketing and public relations success to Signature and SignatureGreen. His work spans multiple industries, non-profit environmental organizations and politics. His specialties include the launching, building and branding of start-up businesses. David believes that you always begin client work with understanding the core business value. "It's one thing for a business to understand the value of its products and brands internally, but the key challenge is how this value is presented in the marketplace in creative and powerful ways." A Brown University graduate with a major in English and writing, David began his career as a speechwriter for a Fortune 500 company and was then appointed as Director of Public Affairs for the White House Conference on Small Business, where he directed media relations and the presentation of issues facing start-up and mid-cap companies across the country in 38 states). His work in the environmental community included nine years as Public Affairs Director for Wildlife Conservation International, where he produced films on wildlife and conservation issues around the world and was instrumental in developing strategic marketing and branding relationships between the corporate and environmental communities. Having launched his own marketing and branding business in 1989, David has worked with numerous corporate, entrepreneurial and environmental organizations in developing and presenting their marketplace brand value to key audiences. |
Melanie Frenkel
Co-founder, Signature and Signature Green Public Relations and Marketing A Broadcast Journalism graduate of Northern Arizona University, Melanie spent 10 years working as a news reporter, producer, and assignment editor in radio and television. Starting her TV career as a production assistant at "Weekend Today" on WNBC-TV in New York, she moved on to CNN where she worked in various positions on the National Assignment Desk. As a National Planning Editor, she coordinated both 'next day' news coverage and longer- term, national news stories. Her work at CNN included news coverage of many historical and international events, including the U.S. submarine-Japanese fishing boat collision, the JFK Jr. plane crash, Columbine shootings, Egypt Air and Swissair airline crash disasters, Monica Lewinsky scandal, Gore-Bush election, the Winter 2002 Olympics and the September 11th tragedy. She received an Emmy from the National Association of Television Arts & Sciences for her contributions to the CNN National Planning Desk for the September 11th terrorist strikes. She also received an award from the Arizona Associated Press for her National Public Radio story on the 75th Anniversary of the Grand Canyon National Park in 1994. Melanie has trained and mentored a number of people for their careers in public relations. She has generated consistent, important media coverage for clients ranging from the Today Show and Good Morning America to NBC Nightly News to The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, and USA Today. In recent years, the social media has become an increasingly important part of her work. As Co-founder of Signature & Signature Green Public Relations, Melanie is among a handful of publicists in the country with a national TV news background. As the lead publicist for Signature & Signature Green, she brings a strategic public relations approach to her work, along with her long-standing relationships with the media across the country. Having run the gamut with her work for start-up companies, multinationals, authors and inventors, today her passion is in the success of 'green', eco-responsible and healthy-product companies. As both a 'green' business owner and mother of a preschooler, she is dedicated to 'getting the word out' about great eco-friendly companies that are committed to preserving our planet for future generations. |
